Never transfer money or give personal details to a cold caller – even if they say they are from the police or Farmsoc. Fraudsters call out of the blue, and they might pretending to be from a Farmsoc and will try to convince the you that their account has been compromised or hacked. If this happens to you, please visit our branch near to you. Do not be a victim of cool caller, stay smart.

Suspicious Text Messages

If you receive a message similar to this one, do not act on it; it is a scam. Remember:

  • FARMSOC will not call to request for payment over the phone or text you to make payment via text message.
  • We will always include the only last four digits of your membership number in a text, and never ask you for your card detail over the phone.

Fraudsters can be very convincing, but knowing what to look for can help to keep your details and your money safe.

Remember, Farmsoc will NEVER ask you to:

  • update your information by email, direct message or text
  • answer security questions by email, text or direct message
  • log directly into the Farmsoc Investment Account via an email, text or social media message

And we’ll always:

  • include the last four digits of your card number if we email, text or message you querying a transaction on your card

The types of fraud that could affect you

There are lots of ways fraudsters can steal your identity.
But by knowing the threats, you can stay secure and help stop fraud.

Masquerading Scam

Scams are intended to trick you into giving away your membership details, or your money. They can look and sound believable! So be careful.

Card fraud

This happens when someone uses your membership card details to make a purchase or withdraw cash without your permission.

Identity fraud

Fraudsters can use your personal details to pretend to be you – which can give them access to more than just your finances.
